  <description>Another good week.  Pretty sore midweek and not quite as fun on the long run, but what the hey I made it!  The &quot;half marathon&quot; time would have been 2:13:13, not exactly the sub two hours I thought might be possible.  Still I think my current plan of sticking around this distance with very slight increases will pay off.   <description>A good week!  Some speed work on Wednesday following Yuri and Mark, and a great Sunday run of 20k&apos;s.  I was dreading it after last week but it was the best run I&apos;ve had in ages.  Felt good and was whistling at half way... maybe I could have gone a bit faster then.&lt;br /&gt;I took a new route I&apos;ve named &quot;Park to park&quot; as I go through Sydney Park and onto Centennial.   <description>For some reason I never posted the epilogue to this.  Yes I finished, in 4:28:27.  I set myself a goal of 4:30:00 so I&apos;m stoked.  Yes it was hard, especially the last 5k&apos;s.  As soon as I finished I said I&apos;d never do it again.  By the time I got home I&apos;d worked out that I could cut off 15 minutes pretty easily.   <description>Turns out I&apos;m an idiot after all.  On Saturday, 8 days before the marathon, I went climbing.  I&apos;ve never hurt myslef climbing, until today.  Took a fall swung into the rock, and ping one sprained ankle.  It&apos;s not the worst sprain ever, actually I probablly got off pretty lightly, but it&apos;s not going to make running 42.2k&apos;s agy easier.  Bugger.</description>

  <description>So I&apos;m now &quot;tapering&quot;.  I find this very strange as it sounds like something real athletes do.  Obviously I still don&apos;t feel like a real athlete.  For some reason I feel grossly under prepared.  I don&apos;t know why, I did all the long traing runs, missed a few of the little ones and maintained a reasonable diet.  I&apos;m sure people do this less prepared than I am, but for some reason I&apos;m starting to freak out!  It&apos;s a damn long way poeple!!!</description>

  <description>Well the big 32k is done, the end is in sight!  The run wasn&apos;t too bad, it was hard but just doable.  I&apos;m freaked that I&apos;ll still have another 10k&apos;s to go on race day.  Oh well hopefully adrenalin will get me through.  It&apos;s nice to be tapering and running less, feels like I&apos;m getting some of my life back.  Better ease up on the biking though, too much chance of damage.</description>

  <description>Did all the runs this week, meaning 52k&apos;s total, including my best time for 15k&apos;s.  &quot;Just&quot; 22k&apos;s on the weekend.  I did a silly thing though and went mountain biking all day Saturday and ran on Sunday.  The weather was bad, really bad.  About 7C with occasional rain squalls.  Consiquently I found it a bit harder than maybe I should have.  Oh well live and learn.  All concentration is now on this week and the big 32k&apos;s at the end of it.  Gosh all this stress and it&apos;s still 10k&apos;s off the race distance!  Lets hope this tapering thing works.</description>

  <description>I&apos;ve had a really bad cold so for the forst time I didn&apos;t do any mid week runs!  Managed the 19k on the weekend even though I was still a bit blocked up and breathing wasn&apos;t the easiest at first.  It&apos;s also gotten very cold here over the last week.  It&apos;s a pain to start running with a hoody and the have to take it off and carry the damn thing.  Anyway 14k&apos;s today leading up to 28 on the weekend!  The ends in sight only 3 more &quot;big&quot; runs before I start to taper.</description>
